RCA Studio B, where Elvis recorded most of his songs~ by Deena Dietrich
RCA Studio B is the Nashville studio where Elvis recorded most of his songs, and like Sun Studio in Memphis you can tour it. I had toured RCA Studio B almost 10 years ago, but then we were not allowed into the actual studio, instead looking into it through the window. This time we got to go in and learn about everything in the studio and hear stories about Elvis’ recordings. I got to stand in the spot where Elvis stood while recording and touch his piano. I saw the microphone where he hit his head during “Are You Lonesome Tonight?” And saw the lights that Elvis had installed because he did not like the lighting that was there. It was a great tour that I thoroughly enjoyed.
This was Day 8 of my 10 Day Road Trip through Tennessee (and Mississippi). To read about what else I did on my trip, please click here. I will be back in Memphis for Elvis Week in August attending all the EPE events and staying at the Guest House, so look for my live tweets and posts @DeenasDays on Twitter and Facebook.
